Summer Has Arrived

 Tuesday's run.

Friday's run.

I'm reducing my distances now; this week I ran a little less than 8 km on Tuesday and a little over 8 km today. My goal is to keep both weekly runs within that range. Last summer, during the summer, both runs were 6 km, so I want to push myself a bit more. In other words, I'm already getting ready for summer, which has officially begun for me. Yes, the official date is the solstice, which will be next June 20th, in a week. But for me, just as spring begins with the Palo Verde trees blooming, summer starts when the humidity is over 85% at 5:30 AM and you sweat a lot while running.

When Mariana and I reached the entrance of Colonia Mariana and each went our separate ways, I started thinking about the book "HISTORIA DE LA TIERRA, UNA COSMOGONÍA PERSONAL" It's been 9 days since it came out, and on one hand, I'm very happy; it has remained among the top one or two best-selling books on Amazon Mexico in several categories related to earth sciences, especially Geology and Ecology. I even found it in fourth place in Philosophy. On the other hand, I'm annoyed because Amazon KDP has distribution problems in Mexico, so no printed books have been sold here—well, processed, which is when they are shipped. Practically all of them have been sold in the United States. I say "practically" because two have been sold in Canada and one in Spain. However, almost all the digital copies have been sold in Mexico. I say "almost" because two were sold in the United States and... ONE IN ITALY! It surprises me; my impression is that digital books are not yet very popular in Mexico. What would be happening if Amazon KDP didn't have distribution problems in Mexico?

I was pondering this when, upon reaching the Miramar breakwater, I encountered the moon, practically full, white against the blue sky—a magnificent sight that accompanied me the whole way. There were moments when I lost sight of it, like on the ascent of Blvd. Félix Serna, where it was behind me, but for the rest of the run, I thoroughly enjoyed it; it was great company. By the way, in the book, I recount how it probably originated from a colossal collision: the primitive Earth against a protoplanet the size of Mars called Theia. If you haven't bought the book, I recommend looking for it on Amazon MX: https://acortar.link/mcneOY and on Amazon US/Global: https://acortar.link/fynhfl.
